The Academic Staff Union of Universities has criticized the payment of partial salaries for the month of October.
Many academics yesterday reported receiving partial salaries although it was not clear if it was a coordinated action from the Federal Government.
The academics were on strike for about eight months this year and the strike action was called off on October 14 in respect of a Court of Appeal order.
The academics had been demanding improved welfare, among other concerns.
In a statement yesterday, Chairman of ASUU Lagos State University branch, Dele Ashiru, described the October salaries as crippled payments.
Meanwhile, the Union is set to summon an emergency meeting of the National Executive Council following the decision of the Federal Government to pay the lecturers half salaries for the month of October, 2022
