Akwa Ibom State Government says it will partner relevant security agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service in sustaining the prevailing peace in the state.
The Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, disclosed this yesterday when he received a delegation of the Nigeria Immigration Service officials of the Akwa Ibom State Command, led by the comptroller Francisca Dakat, on a courtesy call at Government House, Uyo.
Essien, commended the robust public relations strategy employed by the command, and for working tirelessly to ensure effective security coverage of the state’s vast coastline especially, on immigration issues.
He assured his continued collaboration with the Command for the enlightenment of public servants on the processes and importance of owning International passport.
However, Dakat commended the Head of Civil Service for the audience, explaining that the visit was part of the familiarisation tour to Ministries, Departments and Agencies to further strengthen the already existing relationship between the Nigeria Immigration Service and Akwa Ibom state government.
She noted that the state has the largest coast line, and expressed the Command’s readiness to monitor, track, apprehend and deport illegal immigrants in order to promote the security of the state and country.
