Ahead of the governorship and State House of Assembly elections, Akwa Ibom State Police Commissioner, Olatoye Durosinmi, has pledged that the police and other security agencies would work in synergy to perform better during the exercise.
Durosinmi, who disclosed this during citizens’ engagement in Uyo, said security agencies are more prepared to correct all lapses experienced during the Presidential and National Assembly election.
The commissioner advised hoodlums to stay away during the rescheduled election as the Command would not tolerate acts capable of compromising the polls.
Durosinmi said he has just added eight vehicles fitted with new engines and brand new tires in the state police Command’s fleet, adding that they will be handy to respond to emergencies before, during and after the election.
On the allegation that some people, who lost at the last election are preparing to attack voters as a revenge for their loss, the CP said there is no cause for alarm, stressing that officers and men are ready to protect all citizens that are prepared to vote during elections.
