The Federal Government says it will soon lift more COVID-19 restrictions to relieve Nigerians, especially travelers, of some stress.

This was disclosed by the National Coordinator and Technical Head, Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Mukhtar Muhammad, in an interview today.

He said even though the world is moving on away from COVID-19, it is only proper that relaxation of the restrictions are done gradually without rush to avoid mistakes.

The PSC member also said hospitalization and mortality rate have gone down but the risk to contract COVID-19 is still there, hence the need not to be in a rush with the lifting of restrictions.

On complaints by international travelers at airports, Mukhtar said it is in the best interest of everyone to complete the health declaration form, adding that it is done to protect people and their families.
