Acting Corps Marshall of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Biu, has given orders for mobile courts to be set up across states of the federation including Akwa Ibom for the trial of road violators during the upcoming yuletide season.Biu gave the directive during the ember month special patrol flag-off rally at Ikot Ekpene local government area yesterday.The FRSC Acting Corps Marshall represented by the Deputy Corps Commander, Ekaette Bassey, hinted that the areas FRSC will be paying attention to throughout the period include: effective traffic control, failure to install and use of speed limiting devices by commercial vehicles, and overloading.Bassey listed others to include lane indiscipline, driver’s license violation, removal of rickety vehicles on the road and other obstructions, driving with expired and worn out tyres, as well as non-availability of spare tyre in vehicles.She stated that the reason behind the measure is to reduce road traffic crashes and loss of lives and properties during the period.The Road Safety Corps noted that the corps will be embarking on the patrol in collaboration with the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police Force among other sister security agencies.
