The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has presented a budget to the state House of Assembly for the 2023 fiscal year.The budget christened ‘Budget of Completion presented recently is against the approved revised provision of 2022, representing an increase of ten percent from the 2022 revised budget.He said the 2023 Budget is predicated on an oil benchmark of seventy dollar per barrel at a production rate of one point sixty nine million barrels per day. The governor explained that the budget, prepared in accordance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) Accrual template, was Recurrent Expenditure and would go into Capital Expenditure.He said the policy thrust for the 2023 Budget will focus on consolidating the gains of the 8-Point Completion Agenda of his administration.Responding, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Aniekan Bassey, said the lawmakers would quicken the consideration process to ensure speedy passage of the 2023 budget estimate.
