Ahead of next year’s election, the Uyo Senatorial District Media Practitioners FORUM,has cautioned Political parties, their candidates and supporters against hate speech and other acts capable of undermining the electoral process ahead of the 2023 election.In a press statement issued recently by its Chairman, Elder Ofonime Isong, the Forum said it was disturbed by calls from those it described as mischievous elements calling for the sack of the INEC boss and also worried by pressure mounted by some ‘mischevous groups’ on the electoral umpire to discard the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System and the electronic transmission of results in the 2023 General elections.The group also hailed INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu for many reforms he has brought to bear in the electoral body with the aim of strengthening the nation’s democratic process. The forum while lauding the peace accord signed by the eighteen Political parties participating in the forthcoming election, called on Political actors to play by the rule by promoting issue based campaigns.
