A man, identified as Segun Ebenezer, has beaten his wife, Bukola, to death over a dispute arising from ownership of property.

Report has it that the incident happened due to her refusal to hand over a primary school she built in her name to him.

Speaking on the incident, the Ogun State Police Command informed that the suspect and the deceased had been quarreling over the property before he beat her to death.

According to a statement the statement, signed by the police spokesman in Ogun, Abimbola Oyeyemi, yesterday, the police, said the man had been arrested after he ran when a voice note that his wife sent to her relatives was played in his hearing.

The deceased had sent a voice note to her family members, informing them that her husband had used a padlock to hit her on the head while beating her and that if she died, they should be aware that it was her husband that killed her.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed the suspect be transferred to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution,” the statement reads.
