Police in Akwa Ibom recently warned political saboteurs to desist from defacing and destroying billboards and posters of opponents.Police spokesman, Odiko Macdon, issued the warning in a statement in Uyo.Mr Macdon stated that the police commissioner in the state, Olatoye Durosinmi, frowns at the attitude of some political stakeholders, who engage in campaigns of calumny and destruction of opponents’s billboards and posters.Mr Macdon added that Mr Durosinmi had set up a special monitoring team to ensure that perpetrators of this act were brought to book.He assured all political parties and stakeholders of a level playing ground and warned those involved in the acts of political sabotage to desist forthwith or face the full wrath of the law.
