The purported impeachment of the leader of Eket Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Samuel Ekpo has been described as reckless and overzealous by a political leader in Eket Urban Zone,Dr Emmanuel Ekott.
Dr Ekott who is the political leader of ward 4 Urban disclosed this in a statement to Heritage Radio yesterday.
According to him, the political leaders were not consulted and the internal democratic principles and practice of the party should be explored at all times for resolutions of political disputes.
The political leader said he was surprised that Counselors would embark on such a sensitive issue without the support of the elders.
He disassociated himself and the entire ward from the involvement of its councilor, Bar. Gladies Ekaette and called on all councilors to maintain status quo while conscious attempts are being made to resolve all matters.
Dr Ekott said it was wrong to heat up the polity at this time and called on all to join hands to deliver on the forth coming elections, adding that he believed on the capacity of Elders to handle the matter.
