The United States has allocated 50 million dollars for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
The budget will cover training of journalists, Civil Society Organizations and technical assistance among others to ensure transparent exercise.
US Consul General, Mr Will Stevens announced this today in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State during an open session of election reporting workshop for journalists organized by West Africa Broadcast & Media Academy.
Mr. Will noted that the US government has been working closely with partners through US Agency for International Development to ensure that every vote counts.
He stressed that the US will continue to emphasize the value of voting and protecting a free press.
